Solitude Charters: Accommodations and Crew
Cruise and learn on Transport Canada approved motor yachts. We have access to several. Enjoy all the comforts of home while watching the spectacular coastal scenery of B.C.
Delighful AccommodationsTasteful, warm and cozy accommodations may include 1 double stateroom for a couple, 1 stateroom with 2 bunks and 2 pilothouse berths, washroom and shower. Owner's accommodations with separate shower and head. We think of all the extras for you and provide linens, towels, life jackets. Please bring your own binoculars, soft sided luggage, space is at a premium. Accommodation for overnight trips is 6 persons. These vessels boast a complete galley (kitchen), dining area and meals cooked by both crew and students.
During the day, take in the scenery on the bow while you practice your knots and conning or on the upper deck take the helm and hone your watch keeping skills. In the evening, relax in the saloon lounge, where we have a full entertainment system to enjoy once you have completed your daily assignments.
Equipment For Your Use:
1 tender, 1 new-canoe; Fishing equipment.
Captain: Lesley Head. 50 years experience on the water. Skippered charters for over 19 years. 5 Years Whale Watching skipper, Licensed by Dept. of Transportation; Certified Naturalist; Certified ISPA Powerboat Instructor; Bridge Watchmans' certification. VCC Instructor.
Captain Head is an authorized provider for Transport Canada courses: MED A-3 (Marine Emergency Duties) and SVOP (Small Vessel Operator Proficiency), and examiner for PCOC licenses and ROC-M radio Licenses.
First Mate: TC commercially certified with many years experience.
InstructionThe Captain is qualified to teach all courses listed above. While you are on board you may wish to study and challenge both the PCOC (Pleasure Craft Operator's Card) exam and the ROC-M license. (Charges applicable).
